I have the 9855 and can't say I'm too enthralled with that feature. Especially now that I added the iPod - now to go halfway through my very long collection of albums, I have to strokestrokestrokestroke forEVer to get to the one I want, instead of just turning a knob (settle down, guys!). Also, the strip is so sensitive, if I'm trying to do that and hit even a small bump in the road, it ends up selecting whever I was at and then I have to start all the way from the beginning again. If I were to buy another now, I don't know that I'd go for one with that strip. However, the excellent display of the 9855 *might* make up for it. I hear Alpine is about the release new units, in about a month or so. They'll have the iPod connectivity built right in. Can't wait to see what those are like, and if the strip made it to this generation...
